Happy national popcorn day! Popcorn is a delicious treat that can be served at any event, it’s budget friendly and tasty the perfect combination. Popcorn is served at over the top parties, sporting events, and the most common during a movie. There are so many flavors out there and today I will be sharing a chocolate and sea salt popcorn recipe that is super simple to make. You can quickly whip it up and serve it at your next event, for movie night, or on a Tuesday night.
Ingredients that I used:
- 2 bags of microwave popcorn (Natural flavor)
- 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips (you can also use milk chocolate)
- Sea salt
I first popped the popcorn and then spread it out on a cookie sheet.
Next I melted the chocolate chips. You can use your stove for this step, just add a couple of inches of water to a sauce pan, bring to a boil, then put the chocolate in a heat resistant bowl, place it over the water (don’t let the water touch the bowl) and stir the chocolate until melted. Another method is the microwave, put the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl, set it to a minute, then do another 15-30 seconds stirring in between until it is all melted. Once your chocolate is melted you can drizzle it all over your popcorn. Next sprinkle your sea salt over the popcorn mixture. Be careful with how much you sprinkle because it can get too salty quick, start by adding a small pinch and if you feel it needs more then add another pinch.Finally, serve in some cute containers and ENJOY!!!
