Both of my sons LOVE LEGOS as well as Batman, so it came to no surprise that when the LEGO Batman movie was announced they were beyond excited. When the release date for iTunes and the DVD were announced I knew a LEGO Batman movie viewing party was in order.
I used a cube organizer as my dessert table and in the compartments I put some of the stuff that LEGO sent us. The alarm clocks were a HUGE hit with the kids. They also sent a variety of books which were great to read before the movie began to get some facts before watching it.
The desserts were kept to a minimum but were so yummy. The cupcakes were store bought but so good, I placed them on top of a white cake stand then surrounded them with LEGO pieces. The cake stand was also placed on top of some books to add height.I used some of my sons Batman LEGOS to dress up the dessert table. My friend Roni from Roni’s Sugar Creations made these adorable cookies to match our theme. My boys were so excited when I opened the package and showed them the cookies for the first time, they couldn’t wait for the party so that they could eat them.My little guy showing me his favorite cookie from the whole set. The Batman cookie was placed on top of his very own LEGO cookie stand. I made these popcorn boxes from some card stock and added circles to the front of them to resemble a LEGO brick.
For my tablescape I decided to showcase the Batman alarm clock in the center of the table and to add a little more something to the centerpiece I placed LEGO pieces as a sort of runner on the table. The plates were a fun touch with the black and white stripe pattern.A couple of years ago I bought the DC Comics Batman cartridge to use with my very first Cricut machine but the great thing about that cartridge is that I could use it with my new Cricut Explore Air 2. I was able to make some super fun and easy decorations with it. I created these adorable boxes with a batarang handle to hold some small candy pieces inside.Next, I used it to make some cutlery rings to hold the fork and paper straw together.I loved the cups that I used on the table because they sort of resemble the round LEGO pieces. After eating yummy desserts, reading some of the books, and playing LEGOS the boys were ready to watch the movie. I downloaded the movie on iTunes but the DVD was released today. The party and the movie were a huge success. The boys (and me) laughed so much throughout the movie, the boys even said they want to begin working on their 9 pack to be like Batman lol 😉
If you plan on buying the movie I hope this LEGO Batman movie viewing party inspires you to throw your own party.
