Today I am sharing a heart Valentine’s Day picnic party that I created and was featured in the 2015 Spring issue of Everyday Party Magazine. It was so fun just sitting on the grass enjoying lunch and desserts while relaxing.

A picnic party is a simple and budget friendly type of party to host, it isn’t too much of a hassle to put together. Simple desserts, treats, and a quick lunch make an appearance at our heart Valentine’s Day picnic party.Store bought cupcakes were placed inside a heart theme cupcake liner. I also decorated them with heart cupcake toppers that I made using my cutting machine.Store bought cookies were put on a cake plate lined with heart shaped doilies. I don’t always have time to bake and cook everything for the parties I throw and usually these little parties are done last minute so store bought goodies are a good way to save time.
Since this is a heart Valentine’s Day picnic party I wanted hearts everywhere lol. So I used my cutting machine to make a heart banner for my snack table.
Another snack I featured was jello that I made and placed inside these push up pops that I then decorated with washi tape and paper hearts.
I filled mini dessert shooters with strawberry yogurt and taped a cute heart straw that I cut down to size. They were a huge hit with my sons they thought the little straw was funny. The straw only worked as decor because the yogurt is too thick to go through a regular straw.
Our picnic place setting was just perfect, inside the gable boxes was a peanut butter and jelly sandwich as well as a mini fruit cup. Those drinking cups were actually the inspiration for the decorations, I just thought they were so cute and I loved the colors.
I hope this heart Valentine’s picnic inspired you to create something similar. What are your plans for Valentine’s Day?
