It’s Summer which means it’s the perfect time to throw an ice cream party and that is exactly what I did but with a little bit of a 50s inspired twist.50s Ice Cream Party 15

I used some checkered fabric for my table cover and made my paper decorations using my Sizzix Big Shot and dies.50s Ice Cream Party 11For my banner I used the Cupcake or Ice Cream Cone w/Cherry & Candle die and added the fun ice cream cones to some white and red striped scrapbook paper.

50s Ice Cream Party 7Now for the ice cream, here is a budget friendly tip I bought the huge party pail and just scooped some into a smaller container and just refilled as necessary.50s Ice Cream Party 13To decorate my ice cream glasses and add some of the retro 50s touch I used the Retro Sign #2 die as well and the Thinlits Die Set 11PK – Retro TV, Camera & Fab 50s

50s Ice Cream Party 12 I gave my guests two options in which to serve their ice cream, either in a ice cream glass or in cones. I placed my sundae centerpiece on top of my cake plate and I also used it to display the cones.50s Ice Cream Party 650s Ice Cream Party 3For my cupcakes, I added a straw and a paper cherry to make them look like “ice cream milkshakes” I think they turned out so cute. 50s Ice Cream Party 16An ice cream party is a great hit and a fun way to kick off those Summer parties!!!
