Are you counting down the days for the release of the new Star Wars™ movie? My sons are absolutely anxious for December 18th to get here. We introduced them to the whole movie series earlier this year by having 2 movie marathon weekends and they just became obsessed, ever since then we have seen the movies many more times. They have asked for toys, school folders, pencils, clothes, and of course Star Wars™ labeled snacks/food.
With their love of everything Star Wars™ I like to create snacks that reference something in the movie like this “Laser Sword” yogurt parfait. It is a yummy treat that helps refuel them after all the pretend laser sword fights that go on around here.
There is such a variety of Star Wars™ inspired snacks and food out there and you can go to the Awaken Your Taste Buds site to see some recipes and party ideas.
On one of my visits to Walmart this Star Wars™ labeled Cinnamon Toast Crunch® caught my attention and I knew I had to buy it for my boys.
I then saw these AWESOME Go-Gurts® and noticed that the yogurt packaging glows in the dark and I definitely couldn’t pass those up either.
Inside the Cinnamon Toast Crunch® there is an exclusive toy, when my son opened the cereal bag he went straight for the toy. Such an adorable little toy and there’s a total of 6 to collect.
I’d like to now share the easy Laser Sword yogurt parfait recipe so you and your kids can whip some up and enjoy.
The ingredients I will share are to make one laser sword yogurt parfait and it should take no more than 2 minutes to assemble.
Ingredients:
- 1 Tablespoon of Cinnamon Toast Crunch ®
- 1 Go-Gurt ® tube
- 2 Strawberries (chopped)
Supplies:
- Push pop container (I used a push pop container because to me it resembled the shape of a laser sword)
I began by squeezing out 1/2 of the yogurt into the container, the next layer was strawberries, then the remaining yogurt, and finally I topped it off with the cereal.
- 1 Tablespoon of Cinnamon Toast Crunch ®
- 1 Go-Gurt ® tube
- 2 Strawberries (chopped)
- Squeeze out ½ of the yogurt into the container
- Next layer the strawberries
- Then add the remaining yogurt
- Finally, top it with the cereal
What an adorable idea! I love the reuse of the push pop container!
Thank you Jaclyn!
Very clever! I’d totally eat that!
Thank you Tara, I enjoyed one with my boys and it is so good 😉
Anything with Cinnamon Toast Crunch is a win in my book. These are pretty awesome and an easy way to eat yogurt!
Cinnamon Toast Crunch is one of my favorite cereals!
This is so cool love the Star Wars theme and the ice lolly looks delicious too. What is the theme of your next post?
Thank you Ana, my next post will be a gift guide 🙂
You should make some fun star wars sugar cookies together! I love making themed sugar cookies for all sorts of events.
That is a great idea Kathryn, such a perfect pairing 🙂
Haha I love this, my brother and I would have been all over these. Do they get messy to eat or is it fairly easy?? This would be super cute for a Star Wars themed party too!
Thank you Molly! They would be great at a Star Wars party, I used a spoon to eat them so it wouldn’t get messy 🙂
What an inventive idea and perfect for Star Wars fans!
Thank you Lori!
We cannot wait for the movie release in our house! I will need to pick up some of the Star Wars themed Go-Gurts. My kids love them and I have not noticed them hat Walmart. I will be sure to look!
My boys love Go-Gurts too and with the Star Wars theme packaging they love them even more. They are next to the regular Go-Gurts in dairy section 🙂
This is such an adorable idea. My boys would love this. I’ll have to look for those push pop holders.
Thank you Jen! You can find the push pops at Walmart too, if your local store doesn’t have them you can get them online 🙂
What a fun treat for the kiddos. I wish I could find those push pop holders here.
These are so incredibly awesome! We are Star Wars geeks in this house to the core!
These are so much fun and my son really likes all of the components already. We actually bought some of this last night. He saw the Star Wars Go-gurt last night and had to have it.
I’m pretty sure it was yummy. Kids love that stuff.
