Being a mom of boys I don’t really get to see many princess movies but when I saw the trailer for the new Beauty and the Beast movie I knew it was one I just had to see. The DVD release was on Tuesday and I set up a little Beauty and the Beast movie viewing party.
First things first choose the colors you want to work with, many of the Beauty and the Beast parties out there are yellow and blue but I wanted mine to be a little different. So my overall color palette was very neutral with creams and golds, I added the hint of navy blue and red to add a nice pop of color. With the colors chosen I headed over to Oriental Trading to see what party supplies they had that I could use.
For my dessert table backdrop I used a frame that I made into a “mirror” to reference the Beast’s magic mirror.
Another thing I knew I wanted to incorporate was a candelabra as a reference to Lumière. I was so happy to see that Oriental Trading had a candelabra all I had to do was spray paint it gold to match the character.
A movie viewing party could not be complete without popcorn. I dressed up these mini navy blue popcorn boxes with some red paper roses that I made.
I made some mini layered cakes and placed them on top of these gold plates from Maison Du Bonbon.
I couldn’t go with out cupcakes, especially when I got to dress them up with these beautiful gold cupcake wrappers. They looked so pretty on top of the white cake plate.
Next up is the tablescape (my favorite part) which had a gold glitter chandelier hanging over it. I used a gold tablecloth and added these gorgeous plates, although they are paper plates they still had a touch of elegance to them that I just loved.
To add more references to the movie I used my Cricut Explore Air 2 to cut out the phrase “Be Our Guest” from some gold glitter paper. I placed the cut out on top of the plates, I think it was a great way to incorporate the movie onto the table.
I tied off a gold fork and gold straw with some navy blue satin ribbon.
The centerpiece of the table was another favorite element of mine, I stacked some books which I wrapped in white paper and added gold glitter paper to the spine. Another thing I made was the mini enchanted roses, those were so easy to create. I used these mini vases for the cover, I really liked the shaped of it and it was the perfect size to make individual party favors.
Everything turned out so pretty! I especially love all the fun little movie details you added into your party.
Thank you Laura, it was so fun putting everything together!!!!
I really love this viewing party. The table settings and those enchanted roses. Wow! I love it. Thanks!
Thank you so much!!! The table setting is totally my favorite part.
