Today I will be sharing a quick and easy addition to your table place setting, a mason jar cutlery bag. I went with a patriotic feel to this specific cutlery bag so that I could use it for 4th of July. But, the great thing about this is you can customize it to any theme.
Ok let’s get started. First up, the supplies you will need :
- Sizzix Big Shot
- Sizzix Mason Jar Die
- Paper Lunch Bag
- Gray Paper
- Patterned Scrapbook Paper
- Glue
- Tape
- Scissors
After gathering your supplies you will need to take both of your papers and trim them down to the shape of the die. Then create a Sizzix sandwich (cutting pad, die, paper, cutting pad) and run it through your Big Shot. This particular mason jar die came with a coordinating embossing folder, so after cutting out your jar place it in the embossing folder. For that step you will need the multipurpose platform to get the embossing folder to work. The process for that is easy you just add the Sizzix sandwich on top of the platform.
This is the end result, I love the embossed touch to the jar. Next, you just glue the gray pieces to jar cutout.
After your jar is completed place it on top of your paper bag to know where to fold it.
Once folded, flip it over and place a piece of tape to keep the fold down.
Next, you just need to cut off the excess top of the paper bag.
To complete the mason jar cutlery bag you just need to fill it. For my bag I added a red paper napkin, a patriotic paper straw, and a gray fork. The great thing about these cutlery bags is that it keeps everything together which is perfect for outdoor eating. Your guests can easily grab their bag with everything they need and then grab their plate of food.
So cute Blanca! I love the patterned paper you selected too!
Thanks Michelle!! I thought that paper was perfect, not too busy but still adds the patriotic flair to a 4th of July tablescape.
