Today I am showing you how easy it is to personalize ribbon with the Cricut Explore Air 2. Personalized ribbon adds such a special touch to the gifts you are giving. Christmas is coming and I began buying gifts already to avoid any last minute shopping. I bought the teacher gifts and put one together to show you how I will be presenting them.
Let’s get started by gathering all the gift and craft supplies that we will need. For the gift I used a wooden sleigh as my base and I filled it with white crinkled paper, a candle, nail polish, and chocolates. To achieve the personalized ribbon you will need:
- Cricut Explore Air 2
- Glitter Iron On Vinyl
- Ribbon
- Weeder Tool
- Iron
- Towel
- Scissors
First open up Cricut Design Space, here is the project I saved with the font and images I used.
Once you have completed the project and you are ready to cut make sure to mirror your image and place the iron on vinyl with the glitter and liner facing down. Next you will beginning the cutting out process.
Once it is all cut out you will need to remove the large piece of vinyl and weed out any little pieces with the weeding tool. When you finish that you should have something similar to this below.
After, you will place the liner on top of the ribbon and arrange where you want the vinyl to be. When you are happy with the placement place a towel on top of one section and beginning ironing. When one side is done move over to the next. Make sure to follow the instructions on your Cricut iron on vinyl packaging.
That is it, super easy and you are left with a beautiful personalized ribbon. Now all you have to do is attach it to your gift, I attached mine with a little bit of hot glue.
The ribbon I used was velvet and the iron on attached perfectly to it no problems at all.
I just love how the final product turned out much better than I imagined.
