Christmas is one of my favorite holiday’s it is such a beautiful time of year and even though I live in Southern California I still get in the Christmas mood even if it is 70 degrees outside. One thing that helps me get in the mood is creating Christmas theme parties and crafts so I decided to do a 12 Days of Christmas series to share them with you all. I am kicking off the series with a gingerbread house party which is such a classic theme to throw during the holidays. I have always wanted to throw this kind of party for my boys and this was the year I got do it. Both boys had such a great time and I really enjoyed putting it all together for them.

As with most of my parties I started the planning process by heading over to Oriental Trading and of course they had some of the cutest gingerbread party goodies.Let’s start with these cute gingerbread cups, you actually have to assemble them yourself so they would make a cute party activity for the kids.
I ended up assembling them myself so that I could use them as the cups that held the candy for the gingerbread houses.
Also on the table I set out these gingerbread house party favor boxes that the kids could use to place their finished gingerbread houses in and take home.
As in most of my parties I had to have some delicious popcorn so I placed that in white and red striped popcorn boxes.
My favorite part of this party is the tablescape it turned out so vibrant and cute. The centerpiece was a cake plate with some personalized red aprons for the kids to use while decorating their houses.
The cutest part was these adorable gingerbread house plates, they really set the tone for the party.
My tablescape background was our Christmas tree and I just hung a gingerbread man banner from it to tie it into the whole gingerbread house party theme.
I hope this gingerbread house party inspires you to throw one for your kids and it can then maybe turn into a holiday tradition that can be done year after year.
