Teachers have a tough and important job but unfortunately they don’t get appreciated enough. Which is why it is a good idea to designate a day to them. Teacher appreciation day is May 8th this year which means we need to start thinking of gift ideas. There are so many teacher appreciation gift ideas from baskets and flowers to a simple gift card. Today I am sharing a cute gift box to present the gift card in. Back when my kids started their 2017-2018 school year I sent them with this questionnaire for their teachers. That way I know roughly what their teachers like and some of their favorite things so I can get them a teacher appreciation gift they will truly enjoy. One of the questions is favorite color, knowing the teachers favorite color now I can customize each box for them. Well let’s get started:
- Cricut Explore Air 2
- Standard Cutting Mat
- Scoring tool
- Cricut Explore Pen in black 0.4
- card stock in your choice of color
- a small piece of plastic
- hot glue gun
- paper shreds (optional)
First you will need to open up the design I did on the Cricut Design Space. Then click make it and follow the on screen instructions.
Once your Cricut Explore Air 2 is done scoring, writing, and cutting you will lift it off your mat and fold along the scored lines.
Next, take your small piece of clear plastic and glue it on the inside of the box over the apple cut out.
The next thing to do is finish assembling the box and placing the gift card inside. I added some paper shreds to the inside so my gift card wouldn’t flop around but that is completely optional.
I love how the box turned out! Can’t wait for the kids to give the teachers their teacher appreciation gift so they know we truly appreciate them.
