Today I am sharing how to make a Mother’s Day coupon book with your Cricut Explore Air 2. If you don’t have one no worries at the end of this post there is a chance for you to win one for yourself AND one for your mom. Plus a gift card so you can buy some fun craft supplies to get you started on your crafting journey.
Disclosure: I am part of the Cricut Blogger Program and I receive products/compensation in exchange for craft ideas. But all opinions are 100% my own. Some of the links used here are affiliate read my full disclosure HERE.
I remember when I was in elementary school we would make these mother’s day coupon books to give to our moms on their special day. I use to love making and getting creative with them. Well fast forward to now and to my son’s wanting to make their own coupon books to give away as gifts. My oldest doesn’t really enjoy crafting as much because he gets bored of it pretty quick so he asked me if I could help him out with the coupon book he wants to gift. I told him I would help by making the books foundation but he would have to fill out the coupons himself. He was completely on board with the idea so we got to crafting.
I will share with you how we made our Mother’s Day coupon book. First you need to grab your supplies:
- Cricut Explore Air 2
- Cricut Gold Pen
- Glitter Cardstock
- Blank Colored Cardstock
- Hot Glue Gun
- Ribbon
After you gather your supplies you will need to open up Cricut Design Space. If you type in coupon in the image search bar it will give you these options (plus more when you scroll down). You can choose whichever book works for you and create yours from scratch or you can just open the design I used HERE.
If you choose the design I made then you can just go directly to cutting it out with your machine. If you choose to make yours from scratch then these following steps will help.
I decided to use the writing capabilities of the Cricut Explore Air 2 instead of cutting out the words. I chose my font and wrote out Happy Mother’s Day. In the toolbar above where you select your font is “linetype” there is where you will choose which Cricut pen you are using. I used the marker 1.0mm in gold. Next you will need to attached the writing to the pink section so that your machine knows to put them together.
Now you need to make the pages for the actual coupons. I selected the hot pink cover page and duplicated it 5 times then I changed the color to match the small piece so those would cut out on the same paper.
Next I had to just click make it and let my machine do the rest of the work.
I decided to make my cover out of glitter cardstock and the other pages a light lavender. I love how these colors look together.
I used my hot glue gun to glue down the small piece of paper to the glitter cover to make sure it is properly attached.
After I glue those 2 pieces together I used gold ribbon to combine all the pages and actually form the book. And that was it.
This is all I did on my behalf. Here you can see the blank pages that my son is going to fill up.
I hope this Mother’s Day coupon book inspires you to create one of your own. Happy crafting!!!
