Hi there and welcome back, today I am so excited to share with you this adorable party favor canvas bag. This project is part of the craft lightning challenge. This challenge consists of a project that can be done in 15 minutes or less (excluding drying time). As some of you may know I love hosting my friends over for luncheons and I’m planning another one. These are the favors bags I will place at each setting.
I love that these decoupage canvas bags were so simple to make and didn’t require many supplies. The supplies I used were:
- Canvas drawstring bags
- Friends stencil from Stencil Revolution
- Floral design cut out
- Brush
- Sponge
- Gold paint
- Decoupage medium
- Piece of cardboard
The first thing I did was put the piece of cardboard inside the bag so the decoupage medium wouldn’t go through. Then I used my brush and added some of the decoupage medium to the bottom of the bag. Tip: on the other bags I made I actually added the decoupage to the back of the floral design and then set it down on the bag. I personally like that method better.
After placing down the floral design on the bag I added more decoupage medium to the whole image in order to secure it to the canvas bag.
I let the decoupage medium dry a bit then I went on and did the stenciling. When doing the stenciling I used the pouncing method to apply the gold paint. This stencil from Stencil Revolution is so awesome and sturdy. I was able to reuse one stencil for the 4 bags I made with no problem at all.
The final step was to just let the decoupage and paint fully dry. I love how I was able to customize these bags. They are going to be the perfect party favor. I plan on filling them with some yummy chocolates.
I hope these canvas party favor bags inspire you to customize your own for your next gathering. Happy crafting!

This is such a great idea! Thanks for joining!
