Hey friends, today I am so happy to be a part of another Creative Crafts blog hop . This month’s theme is in honor of Harry Potter’s birthday so make sure to click the Team Creative Crafts badge at the end of the post to see many more Harry Potter crafts. Another fun thing at the end of this post is a giveaway for some Harry Potter Lego sets. For my craft I made a Harry Potter sign that I was able to whip up in less than 30 minutes. This sign is great to keep for yourself or to give to a Harry Potter fan.
Disclosure: Post contains affiliate links, read my full disclosure HERE. To start off I created my design in Cricut Design Space and cut out the iron-on using my Cricut Joy.
Next, I gathered the rest of my supplies (some of the items linked are items I found closest to what I used):
- 6×8 inch stretched canvas (I bought mine at Dollar Tree but if you can’t find them I linked some other ones here)
- Iron-on Harry Potter Design
- EasyPress 2
- Weeding Tool
- Craft Knife
- Black Acrylic Paint
- Foam Paint Brush
Next, I weeded out my design with my Cricut weeding tool. Ok, so blogger fail. I forgot to take a picture of me removing the canvas from the frame. But, any who I removed the canvas from the frame and then trimmed off the edges. I just followed the scored lines on the canvas. Then I placed my Harry Potter cut out in the center.
Next I used my EasyPress 2 to iron on the design to the canvas.
Once it cooled down I removed the carrier sheet.
For my frame I used sand paper to smooth out the edges a little and then I painted it with black acrylic paint (I did 2 coats).
Once the frame was dry I flipped it over and hot glued the canvas to the frame.
There you have it a reverse canvas Harry Potter sign perfect for any Harry Potter fan. I hope this Harry Potter sign inspires you to create your own.
