I’m back with another simple craft project. The other day I shared that I bought a shadow box at Michael’s and turned it into a foil skull shadow box. Well on that same trip I bought a blank wood plank sign. I turned this into a Halloween plank sign that I hung in my craft area.

For a while I have been wanting to add baking soda to acrylic paint because I love the texture effect it gives. I knew this would be the perfect project to do this on because I figured the wood would add even more texture. Here is how it turned out. I only did one coat and it turned out great. I think the texture of the paint and the wood gave it a concrete look. While the Halloween plank sign paint was drying I used my Cricut Joy to cut out a statement. I ended up using Cricut everyday iron-on because it is so much easier to add to wood then regular adhesive vinyl. Especially with all the texture. I used my Cricut EasyPress Mini to adhere the iron-on vinyl to my Halloween plank sign. Once the carrier sheet was cooled down I simply removed it. That’s all there was to it. I ended up hanging this Halloween plank sign on the peg board in my craft area. halloween plank signDo you prefer using iron-on or adhesive vinyl on wood? Let me know in the comments below.
