One of my boys loves to read and I love to craft up different bookmarks for him to use. In today’s post I will be sharing the latest bookmark that I created for him which is a popsicle stick bookmark.

Since he reads bigger chapter books now bookmarks are an essential around here. Plus I like to make him a new one when he starts reading a new book or at the beginning of the school year. This year they will be reading The Diary of a Young Girl and Lord of the Flies so 2 new bookmarks are for sure in the near future of him.
Ok lets get started with the easy step by step tutorial.
Popsicle stick bookmark supplies:
Start by cutting out hearts from the red craft foam.
Next hot glue the letter beads to the craft foam. I spelled out READ and added 2 hearts too. The final step was to hot glue a craft stick to the heart foam. The craft sticks I used already come painted and I chose a purple one.
The popsicle stick bookmark is now ready for my son to use the next time he needs it to hold his reading place.
This popsicle stick bookmark can also help follow along with his reading as a reading pointer. Last year I actually created a really fun reading pointer with a retro game boy cut out. It was so fun to create and brought me back to my childhood.
I hope this inspires you to create your own bookmark. Happy crafting!
