School is about to begin which means we parents will be wanting to document the occasion. Today I’m sharing a first day of school flag that is the perfect prop for those back to school pictures. Before we jump into the first day of school post let me share the supplies that I used. Now let me say that I did use my Cricut Maker for ease with this project. That’s one of the best things about the Cricut machines that they make many projects so much more easier. But if you don’t have one you can still easily achieve this first day of school flag.
First day of school flag supplies:
- Cricut Maker
- Cricut felt
- Cricut fabric mat
- Cardstock
- Dowel stick
- Hot glue gun
- Ribbon
- 3d foam stickers
Through Cricut design space I typed out “first day of” and added an offset. Then I used the print then cut feature and had my Cricut Maker cut it out.
Next I used 3d foam stickers on the back of the phrase and set it to the side while I worked on the rest of the flag.
I also used my Cricut Maker to cut out the rest of the pieces I needed (flag and letters for the word school). The reason I did print then cut for the first phrase was to eliminate cutting and gluing many little letters. 
After I finished cutting out everything I needed I hot glued the pieces together. 
My final steps were to hot glue the flag to a dowel and add some ribbon. I stuck with the primary colors for my ribbon choice.
